Lakshman Shrivastava, Director of Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital, said Yoga and Ayurveda work together to support the body, mind and consciousness.

Preventive health and traditional wellness practices were the focus of an International Yoga Day session hosted by Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital in collaboration with Wiselife in New Delhi.
Held on 19 June 2026 at Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, the session brought together wellness enthusiasts and healthcare practitioners to discuss the connection between Yoga, Ayurveda and holistic wellbeing.

The programme included a traditional Guru Pujan, a guided yoga session and a discussion on the relevance of integrating Yoga and Ayurveda into modern lifestyles. Participants also experienced an Ayurvedic breakfast at Soma, The Ayurvedic Kitchen, based on principles of the Sattvik diet.
The session focused on the traditional connection between Yoga and Ayurveda, which are rooted in balance across the body, mind, lifestyle and consciousness. The event also highlighted their relevance in preventive healthcare and daily wellness routines.

Speaking on the occasion, Lakshman Shrivastava, Director, Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital, said, “International Yoga Day is a reminder of the profound Vedic knowledge gifted to humanity by our ancient sages and revived globally by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji. At Maharishi Ayurveda, we believe that Yoga and Ayurveda are not separate disciplines but complementary sciences that together nurture the body, mind, and consciousness. As custodians of Maharishi Ji’s legacy, our mission is to bring these time-tested principles into modern healthcare and inspire individuals to achieve holistic wellbeing, inner peace, and lasting health. This integrated approach remains central to our vision of creating a disease-free society.”

The collaboration with Wiselife aimed to create awareness around sustainable wellness practices and encourage individuals to include simple, meaningful habits in daily life.
