President of the Indian Society of Aesthetic Medicine and Founder and Director of ILAMED, Dr Ajay Rana discusses how Endolift offers a minimally invasive approach to skin tightening and facial rejuvenation with limited downtime.
The demand for minimally invasive aesthetic procedures continues to grow as more people seek visible improvements in skin firmness and facial definition without undergoing surgery, according to Dr Ajay Rana, President of the Indian Society of Aesthetic Medicine and Founder and Director of ILAMED.
In his latest industry perspective, Dr Rana highlights Endolift as a laser assisted procedure designed to tighten skin, improve facial contours and stimulate collagen production beneath the skin’s surface without the need for surgical incisions or stitches.
According to Dr Rana, Endolift uses an ultra thin optical fibre connected to a diode laser, which is inserted beneath the skin through a small entry point. The laser energy acts on deeper tissue layers, promoting collagen production, tightening connective tissue and reducing small localised fat deposits in selected areas.
The procedure is generally performed under local anaesthesia and typically takes between 30 minutes and one hour, depending on the treatment area. Since it does not involve major incisions or stitches, most patients are able to return to their routine within one to two days, although mild swelling or bruising may occur for a short period.
Dr Rana notes that Endolift can be used to treat several areas affected by mild to moderate skin laxity, including the jawline, neck, under eye region, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, upper arms, abdomen and knees. The treatment may also improve facial definition by tightening tissue and reducing small fat deposits.
According to Dr Rana, one of the key advantages of Endolift is that it combines immediate tissue contraction with continued collagen production, allowing improvements to develop gradually over the following three to six months. Depending on individual skin quality, lifestyle and age, the results may last between one and two years.
He says the procedure is best suited for individuals experiencing early to moderate signs of skin ageing who are looking for noticeable improvement without undergoing a surgical facelift. Patients with advanced skin laxity or significant excess skin may still benefit more from conventional surgical procedures following appropriate medical evaluation.
Dr Rana believes the continued growth of minimally invasive aesthetic medicine reflects changing patient preferences for treatments that provide natural looking results with shorter recovery periods. He says procedures such as Endolift are helping bridge the gap between topical skincare treatments and surgical interventions by offering structural skin tightening with minimal downtime.
