JD Institute Uses Immersive Format to Present Future Design Thinking at FAB Show

Rinesh Dalal, Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said the institute’s presence at the CMAI organised event combines immersive design, industry interaction, and student led showcases.

JD Institute of Fashion Technology will present an immersive design installation at FAB Show 2026 in Mumbai, positioning its participation around experiential learning and industry engagement.
The event, organised by the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India, will take place from April 2 to April 4 at NESCO, Mumbai, bringing together manufacturers, brands, designers, and innovators from across the fashion and textile industry.

JD Institute has been selected among a limited number of design institutions to participate in the showcase segment, where it will present a multi sensory installation designed to reflect the intersection of design, technology, and sustainability.
The installation is structured to move beyond static displays, allowing attendees to engage with fashion through a more interactive and evolving format. The institute said the experience is intended to reflect changing consumer engagement patterns and the growing role of technology in design processes.

In addition to the installation, JD Institute will participate in the AI Conclave at the event, where discussions will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in design, manufacturing, and retail. Representatives from the institute will also take part in curated networking sessions with industry stakeholders.
The institute will also present a fashion show and host a dedicated stall featuring student projects, offering visitors direct exposure to ongoing academic work and design output.

Rinesh Dalal, Director, JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said, “Our selection at FAB Show 2026 is an important milestone in the history of JD Institute, where we have always sought to ensure that our educational offerings remain in sync with the ever evolving industry. Being recognised among the top institutions for this platform is both an honour and a responsibility.”
He added, “We believe that our immersive installation will demonstrate how young designers can think beyond conventional parameters by combining creativity with technology and innovation. Platforms like these allow our students and faculty to engage with the industry and contribute to shaping the future of fashion.”
JD Institute said its continued focus remains on providing industry exposure and practical learning opportunities for students as the fashion sector evolves.
