Sarvesh Singh was introduced as the new CEO of Telangana Life Sciences Foundation as the board reviewed $145 billion ecosystem growth, ₹84,000 crore investments and 2026 to 2027 priorities.

D. Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s Industries and Commerce Minister, reviewed Hyderabad’s rise as a global life sciences hub during the seventh board meeting of the Telangana Life Sciences Foundation.
The meeting highlighted Telangana’s life sciences ecosystem reaching an estimated valuation of $145 billion, supported by more than ₹84,000 crore in investments over the past two years.
Shakthi M. Nagappan, CEO of Telangana Life Sciences Foundation, presented the sector’s progress during his decade long tenure and noted that the last two years marked a major period of growth under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Minister D. Sridhar Babu.

The sector has grown nearly threefold since 2016, with Hyderabad building a strong presence across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical technology and health tech innovation. The presentation stated that Hyderabad now hosts technology and innovation centres from nine of the world’s top ten life sciences companies, making it the only region outside the United States with this distinction.
The board placed on record its appreciation for Shakthi M. Nagappan’s role in shaping the ecosystem and noted his appointment by the government as Advisor, Lifesciences. He will continue to serve on the Telangana Life Sciences Foundation board.

“Telangana’s life sciences sector has witnessed unprecedented growth over the past two years. A focused ecosystem building effort, anchored in strong institutional leadership and policy continuity has helped attract investments, forging global partnerships, and accelerating innovation and growth. We are at the cusp of the next phase of growth enabled by the initiatives in the Next Generation Life Sciences Policy,” the Minister stated.
The Minister also said investment MoUs for Green Pharma City, amounting to around ₹20,000 crore, should be grounded at the earliest.

The meeting also introduced Sarvesh Singh as the new CEO of Telangana Life Sciences Foundation. He outlined priorities for 2026 to 2027, while the board stressed the need to continue the implementation of the Life Sciences Policy and advance initiatives such as the Telangana School of Life Sciences.
