The Bengaluru based company plans to expand scientific research, manufacturing and AI driven hydration solutions after securing growth capital and acquiring Zoss Water.
Bengaluru, July 7, 2026: Hydron, India’s functional hydration company, has raised ₹20 crore in growth capital and completed the acquisition of Zoss Water as it looks to expand scientific research, strengthen manufacturing and accelerate the development of functional hydration solutions in India.
The funding will support product innovation, clinical research, AI-enabled customer platforms, manufacturing expansion and commercial growth. The company said the acquisition of Zoss Water strengthens its product portfolio, supply chain and execution capabilities.
Hydron develops alkaline ionised water systems that convert purified drinking water into functional hydration through electrolysis without the addition of chemicals. Its portfolio includes residential hydration systems, under sink units, workplace and institutional dispensers, industrial hydration platforms and an alkaline ionised water ATM network.
The company currently operates across 30 cities with more than 300 installations spanning homes, workplaces and institutions.
Hydron said it has completed six CTRI registered, ICH GCP compliant human clinical studies involving nearly 600 participants before introducing health-related claims. According to the company, the studies evaluated the long-term safety of alkaline ionised water and examined outcomes related to digestive wellness, immunity, sleep quality, stress, skin health and alcohol recovery.
The company plans to expand its research into diabetes, oncology support, inflammatory disorders, healthy ageing, livestock productivity and agriculture.
Rahul Mehta, Board Member, Hydron, said, “My personal journey, shaped by loss, sport and a deep interest in holistic wellness, changed the way I think about life quality and longevity. I believe the future of healthcare lies in helping people stay healthier for longer rather than simply treating illness. Having experienced the benefits of functional hydration over the years, I saw in Hydron an opportunity to build an entirely new category around one of life’s most fundamental habits.”
Aishwarya Vasudevan, CEO, Hydron, said, “Healthcare has evolved rapidly across diagnostics, nutrition, fitness and longevity, but conversations around drinking water have largely remained focused on purity and safety. We believe better water represents an important opportunity in preventive healthcare. This investment allows us to deepen scientific research, strengthen technology and manufacturing capabilities, and make clinically researched functional hydration more widely available.”
Sidharth Sharma, Founder and Water Futurist, said, “For three generations, my family has believed that water shapes public health. Our mission is to combine that legacy with modern science and expand the understanding of what better water can contribute to health.”
Puneet Swaroop, Founder, Zoss Water, said, “Zoss was established with the belief that water could become more than a utility. Joining Hydron enables us to expand that vision through stronger research, technology and a shared focus on building India’s functional hydration category.”
The company said the newly raised capital will also support customer service, product development and AI-enabled platforms while expanding operations from its Bengaluru headquarters.
