Flood Affected Families Across South Gujarat to Receive 5,000 Kits from Aahwahan Foundation

Gujarat, August 4, 2026: Five thousand families affected by the recent floods in South Gujarat will receive grocery relief kits containing dry food items, household groceries and basic medicines under a relief mission started by Aahwahan Foundation.
The Gujarat Flood Relief Mission has been planned to help families facing shortages of food, healthcare supplies and other daily necessities following flooding across Surat, Valsad and surrounding areas. Distribution has begun across affected communities, with the Foundation working to reach vulnerable households during the initial recovery period.

Each grocery relief kit has been prepared to meet immediate household requirements and reduce the pressure on families dealing with damaged homes, interrupted livelihoods and limited access to essential supplies.
The Foundation said relief distribution covers 49 listed locations across South Gujarat. These include Vyara, Valod, Khervada, Vankal, Kadod, Areth, Limbayat, Godadra, Dindoli, Varachha, Unn, Pandesara, Talavchora, Nandhai and Velanpur.
Other locations listed under the relief programme include Nogama, Sadakpor, Anklas, Borlai, Bhilad, Jamburi, Karad, Mohangam, Nani, Tambadi, Udawada, Ambach, Naroli, Jujiwa, Kanjan Hari, Ronvel, Kanjan, Rachod, Jalapor, Sisdora, Supa, Endhal, Pera, Vedcha, Arak, Kalakhacha, Gandevi, Gauchhar, Amalsad, Sachin, Kabilpor, Dharagiri, Veasna and Chapra.

He said every relief kit represented more than the food and medicines it contained, as it also assured affected families that support was available while they tried to return to normal life.
“Every relief kit we distribute represents more than food and medicines; it carries hope, compassion, and the assurance that someone cares. We believe no family should face such hardship alone,” Pradhan said.

He called upon CSR partners, companies, donors, volunteers and citizens to support the relief mission and help extend assistance to more families.
“Together with our CSR partners, donors, volunteers, and compassionate citizens, we can stand beside the people of Surat, restore their confidence, and help them rebuild their lives with dignity and strength,” he added.
The floods have disrupted access to food, healthcare and essential resources for families across the affected areas. Several households are also dealing with damaged homes and loss of income, increasing their dependence on immediate relief support.

Aahwahan Foundation has mobilised its disaster response team to coordinate the preparation and distribution of the kits. The programme has been planned to give families access to basic food and medical supplies while local communities move through the recovery period.
The Foundation is also inviting companies, CSR partners, philanthropic organisations, donors, volunteers and other institutions to participate in the mission through financial contributions, relief materials or volunteering.
Such support will be used to extend the reach of the programme and provide essential supplies to more affected households. The Foundation said timely assistance can help families meet their immediate needs and gradually begin rebuilding their lives.
