Taj Palace, New Delhi has launched the Paathya Green Studio, an interactive sustainability space designed to encourage environmental action through community participation and inclusive engagement.
The initiative aims to inspire one lakh green gestures by the end of the year by encouraging guests, visitors, associates and children to participate in activities such as making seed balls and taking home indigenous saplings. According to the hotel, the programme seeks to extend environmental awareness beyond the property and into communities.
The Paathya Green Studio has been introduced under Paathya, the ESG framework of Indian Hotels Company Limited, and builds on the hotel’s sustainability initiatives by creating opportunities for everyday environmental action.

The initiative also marks an extension of Taj Palace, New Delhi’s recent milestone of crossing 100,000 followers on social media. According to the hotel, the programme seeks to transform digital engagement into community participation by encouraging individuals to contribute towards environmental conservation.
The Paathya Green Studio will be led by Nitin, a naturalist associated with the non governmental organisation Hara Jeevan. Nitin, who is on the autism spectrum, will guide visitors through the experience by sharing knowledge about plants and encouraging interaction with nature. The hotel said the initiative reflects its focus on creating opportunities that combine environmental responsibility with inclusion.

Praydhumna Singh Rathore, General Manager, Taj Palace, New Delhi, said, “At Taj Palace, New Delhi, we believe that hospitality has the power to inspire positive change. The Paathya Green Studio is an extension of that belief, creating a space where every guest can participate in simple actions that collectively make a meaningful difference. Our commitment to One Lakh Green Gestures is about building a movement that extends beyond our hotel into homes and communities. Equally important is the opportunity to make this journey inclusive. With the passion infused by our naturalist Nitin, the studio reflects our belief that environmental responsibility and social inclusion must go hand in hand.”

The hotel said the initiative builds on its broader sustainability programme. Taj Palace, New Delhi holds LEED Platinum and EarthCheck Platinum certifications and has implemented measures aimed at reducing carbon emissions, energy consumption, waste generation and air pollutant emissions. It also operates an in house water bottling facility that eliminates the use of approximately 600,000 single use plastic bottles each year.
The hotel continues to integrate sustainability across guest experiences through programmes under the Paathya framework, including initiatives focused on environmentally conscious meetings, events and hospitality operations.
