Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed Andhra Pradesh’s revenue earning departments to intensify collections, adopt AI driven compliance systems and accelerate district led economic expansion as the state targets ₹1,27,506 crore in revenues for 2026 to 2027.
Mumbai, May 15: Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed Andhra Pradesh’s revenue earning departments to intensify efforts to increase the state’s own revenues, prevent leakages and aggressively pursue pending central funds as the government pushes for faster economic growth.
During a high level review meeting at the Secretariat in Amaravati, Shri Chandrababu Naidu said Andhra Pradesh must ensure that rising investments translate into stronger tax revenues and sustainable economic expansion.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that State Own Revenue rose from ₹1,04,345 crore in 2024 to 2025 to ₹1,10,643 crore in 2025 to 2026, registering 6 percent growth.
Major contributions included ₹33,679 crore from GST, ₹10,300 crore from the Mines Department and ₹11,047 crore from the Stamps and Registration Department.
For 2026 to 2027, Andhra Pradesh has set a revenue target of ₹1,27,506 crore.
Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu said every revenue earning department, including Commercial Taxes, Excise, Mines, Transport and Registration, must operate at full capacity and eliminate revenue leakages.
He said resolving land related disputes, particularly matters involving Section 22A properties, could significantly improve registration revenues.
“As investments increase, tax revenues must rise proportionately,” Shri Chandrababu Naidu said.
The Chief Minister also noted that Andhra Pradesh had already recorded nearly 38 percent revenue growth in the first 42 days of the current financial year.
Calling districts the state’s future growth engines, Shri Chandrababu Naidu said district level economic expansion would be critical to achieving faster statewide growth and revenue targets.
He directed departments to improve the Speed of Doing Business, introduce innovative systems and use advanced technology to identify tax evasion and operational irregularities.
Emphasising technology led governance, Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu instructed departments to implement AI driven GST scrutiny systems, strengthen analytics and improve compliance mechanisms without causing unnecessary pressure on taxpayers.
He also asked officials to create greater awareness among taxpayers about the importance of tax compliance while maintaining transparency in collections.
The Chief Minister further stressed the need for value addition in minerals and red sanders exports to improve revenue generation.
He also called for faster vehicle registrations within 24 hours, rationalisation of municipal taxes and broader use of GIS mapping, drone surveys and satellite imagery to detect unauthorised constructions and strengthen tax assessments.
Senior officials from Finance, Transport, Excise, Mines, Commercial Taxes, Forest, Municipal Administration and Registration departments attended the review meeting along with Chief Secretary Sai Prasad.
