The three year programme by Ambuja Foundation and Kanohar Electricals Limited will train over 1,000 rural youth in Uttar Pradesh in healthcare, customer service and livelihood focused skills, with Pearl Tiwari, CEO of Ambuja Foundation, positioning it as a response to the regional skills gap.

Ambuja Foundation and Kanohar Electricals Limited have partnered to establish a Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh, with a three year plan to train more than 1,000 rural youth for employment linked opportunities.
The institute will be located in Village Saunda near Modinagar in Ghaziabad district. The region is close to the Delhi NCR economic corridor, yet several nearby villages continue to face unemployment, underemployment and limited access to skill based livelihood options.

A field assessment by Ambuja Foundation across Saunda and surrounding villages found that many young men and women had completed secondary education or graduation, but lacked industry relevant technical skills, practical exposure and awareness of career pathways. This gap has left many educated rural youth either unemployed or working in informal and low paying jobs.
Village Saunda was selected for the initiative because of its alignment with the programme’s objectives and its connection to Shri Kanohar Lal Singhal, founder of Kanohar Electricals Limited.
The programme will offer structured training in Phlebotomy, General Duty Assistant, OT Assistance, Customer Care and Microfinance. Participants will also receive soft skills training, IT training and on the job training to help them gain practical workplace experience.

The curriculum will include work readiness and financial literacy to prepare trainees for professional environments. Occupational health and safety will also be part of the training, helping participants understand workplace standards and improve long term employability.
Pearl Tiwari, CEO, Ambuja Foundation, said, “With the growing demand for a skilled workforce across sectors, it is becoming increasingly important to bridge the skills gap and equip youth with industry relevant capabilities. Through this strategic partnership with Kanohar Electricals Limited, we aim empowering youth with the skills, confidence and opportunities needed to build sustainable careers and improve their socio economic well being.”

Shri Dinesh Singhal, Chairman and Managing Director of Kanohar Electricals Limited, said, “At Kanohar Electricals Limited, we believe that investing in skills development is essential for building inclusive economic growth. Through this collaboration with Ambuja Foundation, we hope to create meaningful opportunities for young people in rural Uttar Pradesh, enabling them to gain industry relevant skills and access better livelihood prospects.”
Over the next three years, the institute is expected to connect rural youth with emerging employment opportunities across the NCR region while building local capacity for skill development. The initiative aims to support job placements, improve household incomes and create greater economic mobility for families in the region.
Ambuja Foundation is an independent pan India development organisation working with rural communities across areas such as water, agriculture, skills, women, health and education.
