Saloni Anand, Co Founder of Traya Health, said the company’s comparison of self reported health assessments from over 1.6 lakh Indian men found Telangana recording the steepest drop in digestive health indicators linked to male hair loss.

A comparison of self reported health assessments from more than 1.6 lakh Indian men has placed Telangana at the centre of Traya Health’s latest gut and hair health findings, with the state recording the steepest decline in digestive health among the regions studied.
The study compared data collected in December 2024 and December 2025 across ten major Indian regions, using the share of men reporting little or no constipation as an indicator of digestive health. According to the findings, Telangana saw this number fall from 19.13 percent to 15.03 percent over the one year period, marking a decline of 4.10 percentage points, the sharpest drop among the regions tracked.

Rajasthan recorded the second largest decline at 3.30 percentage points, followed by Delhi NCR at 2.97 percentage points. Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu also registered declines during the same period.
Traya Health said the findings point toward a broader lifestyle driven digestive health concern, particularly in highly urban environments. The company noted that modern eating patterns, irregular meal schedules, chronic underhydration, workplace stress, and dependence on ultra processed food may be contributing to worsening digestive health indicators among working men.

The company also linked digestive health with hair health, stating that nutrient absorption plays a critical role in hair growth. According to Traya, poor digestion may limit the body’s ability to absorb protein, iron, zinc, and vitamins required for hair follicle health, while chronic digestive stress may also contribute to inflammation that disrupts the hair growth cycle.
Saloni Anand, Co Founder of Traya Health, said, “Telangana’s numbers are a signal the state cannot afford to ignore. These are not men in poor health, these are working professionals in one of India’s most dynamic cities. But the same lifestyle that drives economic productivity is quietly degrading gut function. And when the gut struggles, hair is the first visible casualty.”

The company said its user data from Telangana reflects similar patterns, with men seeking hair loss support also reporting digestive discomfort, irregular gut function, and signs associated with poor nutrient absorption.
Traya Health said the study draws on one of its larger internal health datasets, built from its work with more than 12 lakh Indians through customised hair health programmes that combine Ayurveda, dermatology, and nutrition.
