Pamela Wong, VP, People, Belden, and Deepa Menon, Founder, PVR NEST, highlight the role of employee volunteers and NGO partnerships in organising special film screenings in Gurugram, Pune and Bengaluru.
Belden, a global supplier of specialty networking solutions, collaborated with PVR NEST, the corporate social responsibility arm of PVR INOX Limited, to organise cinema screenings for more than 550 children across Gurugram, Pune and Bengaluru.
The initiative, titled Big Dreams on the Big Screen, was conducted under Belden’s Connect with Community programme.
Children associated with partner nongovernmental organisations attended special film screenings at PVR INOX cinemas, accompanied by Belden employee volunteers and NGO representatives.
For some participants, the event marked their first experience of watching a film in a multiplex.
The outings included specially prepared food and opportunities for children to spend time with their friends outside their regular routines.
Screenings Organised Across Three Cities
The screenings took place on October 16 in Gurugram and Pune, followed by a Bengaluru event on October 23.
In Gurugram, children watched The Great Grand Superhero: Aliens Ka Aagman in Hindi at PVR INOX AIPL Joy Street.
The Pune screening featured Raja Shivaji in Marathi at PVR INOX PMC Wakad.
In Bengaluru, participants attended a Kannada screening of Mahavtaar Narasimha at PVR INOX Superplex, Forum Mall South Bengaluru.
The selection of films in different languages allowed the events to reflect the local audiences in each city.
The programme brought together children, community organisations and corporate volunteers for a shared recreational activity.
Belden Highlights Employee Volunteering
Pamela Wong, VP, People, Belden, said the initiative reflected the company’s involvement in the communities where its employees live and work.
“Every child deserves a day of joy. Connect with Community reflects Belden’s commitment to the communities where our people live and work. We are grateful to PVR NEST for helping us create these memorable moments, and to our employee volunteers for hosting them,” she said.
Belden employees participated in hosting the children during the screenings.
Their involvement formed part of the company’s Connect with Community activities, which brought employee volunteers together with partner NGOs.
PVR NEST on Shared Cinema Experiences
Deepa Menon, Founder, PVR NEST, spoke about the value of providing children with opportunities to enjoy films together.
“There is something special about watching a film on the big screen, especially when shared with friends,” she said.
Menon also acknowledged the partnership with Belden and the participation of children across the three locations.
“It is wonderful to see cinema bring them together for a shared experience, creating happy memories that stay with them long after the film ends,” she added.
The collaboration used existing cinema venues to provide an organised recreational experience for children associated with community organisations.
