Lakshmee Foundation Receives ₹90 Crore Support From Avantel Founder

Dr. Abburi Vidyasagar, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Avantel Limited, has contributed 60 lakh equity shares to support Lakshmee Foundation’s healthcare expansion across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Lakshmee Foundation is preparing to expand its healthcare services after receiving 60 lakh equity shares of Avantel Limited from Dr. Abburi Vidyasagar, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Avantel Limited.
The contribution is currently valued at approximately ₹90 crore and will support the Foundation’s plans to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve access to affordable medical care in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The funds will support the Foundation’s ongoing work to build a larger multi specialty healthcare system in Vijayawada. The planned expansion is expected to include medicine, surgery, women and child healthcare, cardiac care, emergency medicine, intensive care, diagnostics, and laboratory services.

In 2024, Dr. Vidyasagar had also donated 45 lakh shares of Avantel Limited, with a realised value of approximately ₹76.44 crore, to support healthcare programmes, hospital operations, and community outreach initiatives.
Dr. Abburi Vidyasagar said, “Access to quality healthcare continues to remain out of reach for many families. Through this contribution, we hope to strengthen long term healthcare infrastructure and support initiatives that create lasting community impact.”
Established in 2010 in memory of Late Smt. Abburi Lakshmeekantham, Lakshmee Foundation has worked across healthcare, education, women welfare, orphan support, old age care, and humanitarian relief initiatives for the past 16 years.
The Foundation began as a small polyclinic in Vijayawada and has grown into a healthcare institution operating a 20 bed multi specialty hospital. The hospital currently serves nearly 90 patients every day and has provided care to close to 60,000 people over the last three years.

Across its programmes, Lakshmee Foundation has impacted more than 99,000 lives through medical camps, cataract surgeries, diagnostics, livelihood programmes, and community healthcare services.
The upcoming expansion is envisaged as a 150 plus bed multi specialty facility. It is expected to improve access to diagnostics, emergency care, critical care, and long term treatment services for patients in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Avantel Limited, founded by Dr. Vidyasagar Abburi, designs, develops, and maintains communication products, radar systems, and network management software applications for the aerospace and defence sectors. Its work includes satellite communications, radar subsystems, software defined radios, and defence electronics.
