Chandrababu Naidu Seeks Stronger Ground Level Execution to Meet GSDP Goals

Reviewing the Finance Department, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Andhra Pradesh must combine short, medium, and long term planning with stronger field level execution, while Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav and senior officials joined the discussion on growth, revenue, and priority projects

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to adopt both micro and macro level planning to help the state meet its Gross State Domestic Product targets, while stressing that field level execution will be critical to achieving a 15 percent growth rate.
At a review meeting of the Finance Department held at the Secretariat, Naidu said the state needs short, medium, and long term planning across sectors to reach optimal productivity levels. He asked officials to ensure that these plans are implemented effectively at the grassroots level.

The Chief Minister said the state is already supplying essential resources such as water and electricity to agriculture and industry, and called for further efforts to improve productivity. He said that despite financial pressures, the government has not raised electricity tariffs and is also carrying an additional burden of Rs 4,600 crore because of decisions taken by the previous administration.

Naidu told revenue generating departments to achieve their targets without placing any burden on the public. He said the completion of Amaravati and Polavaram would make a major contribution to wealth creation in the state.
He also said there is no shortage of funds for priority projects and added that support from the Central Government would help complete these projects and speed up development. Officials were asked to make use of central government schemes, including Purvodaya and Sasci schemes, to take up development programmes.

The Chief Minister said welfare schemes would continue in line with the welfare calendar and directed officials to focus on securing funds due to the state under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
Referring to Anna Canteens, Naidu criticised the previous government for shutting them down and said the present administration is now providing meals to the poor through 269 Anna Canteens across the state despite financial and administrative challenges.
He also asked departments to improve efficiency and simplify procedures in order to attract investment and strengthen revenue generation.
Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, Chief Secretary G Sai Prasad, Principal Secretary Finance Piyush Kumar, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
