K. Anindith Reddy, Co Founder and Managing Director of Wadi Surgicals, said the company’s AMTZ facility is scaling toward nearly 3 million gloves per day, as M. Venkaiah Naidu and Dr Jitendra Sharma reviewed progress in medical consumables manufacturing in Visakhapatnam.
Wadi Surgicals hosted former Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu at its nitrile glove manufacturing facility in the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone in Visakhapatnam, in a visit that drew attention to domestic healthcare manufacturing and medical consumables production.
Dr Jitendra Sharma, Founder and CEO of AMTZ Visakhapatnam, was also present during the tour of the facility. According to the company, the visit reflected the role of the AMTZ ecosystem in supporting India’s push toward self reliance in healthcare manufacturing.
During the visit, M. Venkaiah Naidu was briefed on the plant’s technical progress and its scale up plans, with the facility moving toward a production capacity of nearly 3 million gloves per day. The company said the development highlights India’s growing role in the global medical device manufacturing landscape.
The former Vice President expressed satisfaction at the progress made by AMTZ in advancing the goal of self reliance in medical consumables and in developing medical technology products. The company said the visit also revisited the broader vision linked to the foundation of the zone nearly a decade ago.
K. Anindith Reddy, Co Founder and Managing Director, Wadi Surgicals, said, “We are honoured to host the Hon’ble Former Vice President. His vision for a self reliant India mirrors our mission at Wadi Surgicals. Being situated within AMTZ allows us to leverage a unique ecosystem that accelerates innovation and ensures that high quality, Indian made medical products are accessible to the world.”
Wadi Surgicals said it has scaled operations at AMTZ since inception and has focused on producing premium nitrile gloves during a period of global supply challenges. The company added that the facility meets international standards while also generating skilled employment and contributing to economic activity in Visakhapatnam.
