Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India; Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY; and Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI, addressed the 35th Foundation Day summit focused on startups, AI, deep tech and regional innovation

New Delhi, June 6, 2026: Software Technology Parks of India organised STPI Tech Summit 2026: India’s Next Leap in New Delhi, marking its 35th Foundation Day and bringing together government officials, venture capitalists, startup leaders, ecosystem enablers and technology innovators.
The event was graced by Shri Jitin Prasada, Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, as Chief Guest.
“STPI’s 35-year journey reflects the remarkable transformation of India’s technology ecosystem and its emergence as a global digital powerhouse. Guided by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for Viksit Bharat@2047, India is creating a future-ready digital economy driven by innovation, entrepreneurship and technological self-reliance,” said Shri Jitin Prasada.

He added that initiatives such as the India Semiconductor Mission and IndiaAI Mission are opening new avenues for research, manufacturing and technology led growth.
Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said STPI must use its legacy to support emerging regions and create stronger linkages between entrepreneurs, mentors, venture capitalists and industry stakeholders. He said STPI has helped connect regions including the North East with established technology hubs such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Shri Arvind Kumar, Director General, STPI, said STPI has become an important pillar of India’s digital economy over the past 35 years. He said the organisation has 73 centres across the country, has supported more than 1700 startups and has contributed to India’s IT exports while enabling technology led growth beyond metropolitan cities.

The inaugural session also featured addresses by Ms. Debjani Ghosh, Distinguished Fellow, NITI Aayog and Chief Architect, NITI Frontier Tech Hub, and Shri Deepak Bagla, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
During the event, STPI released a commemorative compendium documenting its 35 year journey, felicitated leading IT and ITeS exporters and exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding with Wadhwani Foundation to support innovation, entrepreneurship and skill development.
A key launch at the summit was Sayuj, an AI enabled mobile application created as a unified digital platform for startups, innovators, incubators, mentors and ecosystem stakeholders. The platform aims to support startup discovery, networking, collaboration, incubation support and engagement across India’s innovation landscape.

STPI also launched the Open Challenge Program 1.0 by the upcoming STPI NERVE CoE, Nagpur, and the Open Challenge Program 1.0 by STPI SmartAgri CoE, Chhattisgarh. These initiatives aim to identify technology solutions, offer mentorship and market access, and support entrepreneurship in emerging sectors.
The summit included keynote addresses and panel discussions on India’s shift from technology execution to technology creation, governance for innovation led growth, state led technology ecosystems, capital access for deep tech startups and opportunities across frontier technologies.
Speakers and participants included Dr. Arvind Gupta, Head, Digital India Foundation; Rajan Anandan, Managing Director, Peak XV; Atul Dhawan, President, TiE Delhi NCR; Rajiv Gupta, President, PB Fintech; Nitin Jain, Partner, Tiger Analytics; Amit Kumar Gupta, Region Head, Tata Consultancy Services; Dr. Vishal Gandhi, Founder and CEO, BIORx Ventures; Vincent Liew, Chief Centre Officer, Global Finance and Technology Network; and Amish Dedhia, Principal, Chiratae Ventures.
Startup leaders including Ankit Mehta of ideaForge, Dr. Srishti Batra of Qzense Labs, Sumeet Mahapatra of Stackfusion and Amey Desai of Lifespark Technologies also shared views on building deep tech products from India.
