Independence Day celebrations featured regional performances, theatre, live music and a flash mob with more than 253 participants
Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru concluded its month long WeAreBhartiya campaign with an Independence Day celebration that brought together cultural traditions from across India through music, dance, storytelling and theatre.
Held across four weekends, the campaign gave visitors an opportunity to experience regional traditions and performing arts from different parts of the country at one venue.
The programme included Rajasthan’s Ghoomar, Maharashtra’s Lavani, Punjab’s Bhangra, Assam’s Bihu, Karnataka’s Dollu Kunitha, Tamil Nadu’s Bharatanatyam and Kerala’s Mohiniyattam.
Visitors also witnessed Kashmiri and Northeast folk dances, Odissi and Sambalpuri performances from Odisha, Bengali folk dance and traditional attire presentations representing Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.
The month long campaign concluded on Independence Day with a theatrical presentation tracing India’s evolution through different periods of its history.
Using dance, music, costumes and storytelling, the presentation took audiences from ancient civilisations and major empires to the freedom movement and India’s journey following Independence. It also explored women’s empowerment, progress and the country’s development as a democracy.
The Independence Day programme included the theatrical presentation along with freestyle dance, a Kathak performance and live music, bringing different performing arts together as part of the concluding celebrations.
A flash mob featuring more than 253 participants became another key part of the programme, bringing visitors together during the Independence Day festivities.
The theatrical presentation concluded with the entry of Bharat Mata, followed by a musical tribute centred on the spirit of a united India.
Through WeAreBhartiya, Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru brought cultural traditions from different regions together over four weekends, allowing visitors across age groups to experience India’s regional heritage while highlighting the connection between cultural diversity, unity and belonging.
