Shreya Malpani, Director of Malpani Group, says families, college groups and young professionals are increasingly choosing water parks for full day recreation, group celebrations and relief from rising summer temperatures.
As summer temperatures continue to rise in Surat, leisure preferences are evolving, with water parks emerging as a preferred destination for families, students and working professionals seeking recreational experiences closer to home.
According to Shreya Malpani, Director of Malpani Group, changing consumer preferences are contributing to the growing popularity of water parks such as Aqua Imagicaa, which offer a combination of entertainment, relaxation and social experiences within a single destination.
One of the key factors driving this trend is convenience. Rather than planning extended holidays, many visitors are opting for day long recreational outings that provide a change of environment without requiring significant travel. Water parks have increasingly positioned themselves as accessible options for weekend recreation and short breaks.
The appeal of these destinations has also broadened across age groups. While water parks have traditionally attracted younger visitors, facilities now cater to families, groups of friends and adults through a mix of high thrill attractions, wave pools, rain dance zones, lazy rivers and family oriented experiences.
Another factor contributing to increased visitor interest is the growing demand for experience based leisure activities. Visitors, particularly younger audiences, are placing greater emphasis on activities that combine entertainment, social interaction and memorable experiences. Attractions that bring together rides, food, music and recreation have gained prominence within this shift.
Group events are also playing a significant role in visitor numbers. Birthdays, school excursions, corporate gatherings and social celebrations are increasingly being hosted at water parks, which offer multiple entertainment options within a single venue. This has made them a practical choice for organised outings and shared recreational experiences.
Shreya Malpani, Director of Malpani Group, noted that visitor expectations have also evolved, with greater attention being paid to hygiene, water quality, safety measures and overall guest comfort. Investments in filtration systems, facility improvements, operational standards and staff training have become important factors in maintaining visitor confidence.
As Surat’s leisure landscape continues to develop, water parks are becoming an increasingly prominent part of how residents spend their weekends and holidays. Destinations such as Aqua Imagicaa reflect a broader shift towards local, experience driven recreation that combines convenience with entertainment.
