Dr. Kartikeya Bhargava, Senior Director, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Care at Medanta, spoke on yoga’s role in heart health during the session held with The Art of Living.
Medanta, The Medicity, Gurugram, marked the 12th International Day of Yoga with a community yoga session held on the hospital lawns in association with The Art of Living.
The session took place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM and saw participation from more than 200 Gurugram residents. Experts from The Art of Living conducted the session.
The event was aligned with this year’s global theme, Yoga for Healthy Ageing, and focused on preventive wellness and lifestyle driven health practices across age groups.
Dr. Kartikeya Bhargava, Senior Director, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Care at Medanta, attended the event and spoke about the role of yoga in supporting long term heart health.
Dr. Bhargava said, “Yoga remains one of the simplest, most accessible tools we have for cardiovascular health. Pranayama practices like Anulom Vilom improve lung capacity, help regulate blood pressure, and support the body’s ability to eliminate stress, a key contributor to many chronic conditions. Regular practice of Yogasanas can also meaningfully strengthen heart health over time. At Medanta, we continue to see yoga not as a one-day observance, but as a long-term, evidence-backed complement to preventive healthcare.”
Through the initiative, Medanta reiterated its focus on preventive care and community wellness, along with the role of yoga and lifestyle medicine in daily health practices.
