The Guwahati store completes one year as the brand expands its Northeast footprint with Silchar, while Darshan Dudhoria, CEO, Indian Silk House Agencies, said the market has strengthened confidence in the region.

Guwahati, 25 May 2026: Indian Silk House Agencies has completed one year of its Guwahati store, marking a key step in the saree brand’s growing presence across Northeast India.
The Guwahati outlet has become an important retail destination for saree buyers in the region, giving customers access to Bengal’s signature weaves such as Kantha, Baluchari, Matka and Tussar, along with Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Paithani and Bandhej sarees from across India.

The anniversary comes as Indian Silk House Agencies deepens its Northeast presence. Along with its recent launch in Silchar, the brand has expanded its footprint across two states in the region within twelve months.
The company is also continuing its national expansion, opening one new store every seven to ten days as part of its plan to reach 500 stores across India by 2030.

With a network of more than 15,000 artisans across over 60 weaving clusters in India, Indian Silk House Agencies continues to bring regional craftsmanship to a wider customer base through its retail and digital platforms.
Over the past year, the Guwahati store has seen an encouraging response, reflecting the region’s strong connection with textiles and traditional dressing.

Mr. Darshan Dudhoria, CEO, Indian Silk House Agencies, said, “When we opened Guwahati a year ago, it was a bet on Northeast India, a market we believed was underserved by authentic, organised saree retail. A year on, that bet has paid off. Guwahati has given us the conviction to go deeper into the Northeast, and it remains central to our journey toward becoming India’s largest national saree retailer.”
Founded in 1971 in Kolkata, Indian Silk House Agencies has operated for more than five decades as an only sarees brand. It was recently recognised as Best Regional Retailer, East, at the ET Great India Retail Awards 2026.
The brand currently offers more than 15,000 handloom designs across Banarasi, Kanjivaram, Baluchari, Tussar, Chanderi and other saree categories. It operates through an omnichannel network of 68 stores and its digital platform, with a focus on connecting Indian textile heritage with modern retail access.
