Narayan Seva Sansthan and Prashant Agarwal Bring 21 Differently Abled Couples Together at Delhi Mass Wedding Ceremony

Prashant Agarwal, President, Narayan Seva Sansthan, said the organisation has now facilitated 2,582 marriages while continuing its mission of disability rehabilitation, healthcare support and social empowerment across India.

National, June 8, 2026: Narayan Seva Sansthan, one of India’s leading organisations dedicated to disability rehabilitation, healthcare and social empowerment, organised its 46th Mass Wedding Ceremony in New Delhi, bringing together 21 differently abled and underprivileged couples from across the country.
The ceremony witnessed couples from Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh solemnising their marriages through traditional Vedic rituals and taking the sacred seven pheras in the presence of family members, well wishers, donors and community supporters.

Spread over two days, the celebrations included Ganpati Sthapana, Haldi and Mehendi ceremonies, along with traditional songs, Ghoomar performances and folk dances that created a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
During the event, Narayan Seva Sansthan honoured donors and supporters for their contribution towards the initiative. Newly married couples received household essentials including beds, almirahs, gas stoves, fans, mixers and a wide range of kitchen utensils to help them begin their married lives with dignity and self reliance.

Speaking on the occasion, Prashant Agarwal, President, Narayan Seva Sansthan, said, “All 21 couples have now taken their sacred vows around the holy fire as per Vedic traditions. Each newlywed couple has been provided with essential household items to help them begin their new life with dignity and self reliance.”
He added that mass weddings serve as a platform to promote social harmony, equality and humanity while supporting differently abled and economically weaker families who often face challenges in organising such ceremonies.

Among the many inspiring stories from the event was that of Shibu Kumar and Geeta Kumari from Jharkhand. Both faced physical disabilities and financial challenges that delayed their marriage. After approaching Narayan Seva Sansthan for support, Geeta received medical assistance while Shibu was provided with modern calipers that improved his mobility. The couple was subsequently selected for the Delhi ceremony.
Expressing her gratitude, Geeta Kumari said, “Narayan Seva Sansthan understands the pain of the differently abled. Because of them, I have found my love and the chance to build a home.”

Another couple, Mukesh and Durga from Banswara, also realised their dream of marriage through the initiative. Durga had earlier undergone successful treatment through Narayan Seva Sansthan and later approached the organisation along with Mukesh after facing financial hardships.
Thanking the organisation, Durga said, “Narayan Seva Sansthan is like God for us. They successfully operated on my legs in 2009, and today they have fulfilled my dream of marriage as well.”

With the completion of the latest ceremony, Narayan Seva Sansthan has now facilitated 2,582 marriages for differently abled and underprivileged individuals across India.
Founded by Padma Shri Kailash Manav Agarwal, the organisation continues its work in disability rehabilitation, healthcare and social upliftment. Narayan Seva Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal was honoured with the National Award in 2023 by President Droupadi Murmu for his contribution towards empowering persons with disabilities.

The organisation has also provided free artificial limbs to more than 39,388 beneficiaries and delivered free medical treatment to over 4.52 lakh patients, reinforcing its long standing commitment to inclusion, dignity and community support.
