Sanjay Kulkarni, President of Fleetguard Filters Private Limited, said the drive at Vruddheshwar Siddheshwar Ghat brought employees together to support river conservation, responsible waste management and cleaner public spaces
Urban sustainability and river conservation remain pressing priorities for Indian cities, and corporate led community action is increasingly becoming part of local environmental efforts. Fleetguard Filters Private Limited organised a river cleaning drive at Vruddheshwar Siddheshwar Ghat in Shaniwar Peth, Pune, on 21 May 2026 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives focused on environmental sustainability and community engagement.
The drive saw participation from nearly 55 employee volunteers from Fleetguard Filters Private Limited. Conducted between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, the activity focused on waste collection, responsible segregation and the upkeep of the ghat area. The initiative aimed to contribute to a cleaner riverbed while encouraging awareness around responsible waste disposal and environmental stewardship.
During the drive, approximately 200 kilograms of waste and plastic debris were collected and segregated for responsible disposal in collaboration with Poornam Ecovision Foundation. The activity also highlighted the importance of civic responsibility and collective participation in preserving river ecosystems.
“At Fleetguard Filters Private Limited, sustainability extends beyond business operations into meaningful community action. Through this river cleaning initiative at Vruddheshwar Siddheshwar Ghat, our employees came together to contribute towards preserving our river ecosystem and promoting greater awareness around responsible waste management. Environmental conservation requires collective participation, and we believe such initiatives can play an important role in encouraging long term behavioural change and stronger community ownership towards cleaner public spaces and waterways,” said Sanjay Kulkarni, President.
The activity is part of the company’s broader CSR and sustainability initiatives, which focus on environmental conservation, ecosystem restoration and inclusive community development. Across Maharashtra, Fleetguard Filters Private Limited has undertaken several environment focused initiatives, including plantation drives and community participation programmes aimed at supporting ecological balance and sustainable development.
