Mast Banarasi Paan has crossed 400 outlets across India and plans to expand to 600 locations as it explores growth capital to support technology, supply chain and franchise development.

The tobacco free paan café chain plans to increase its network to 600 outlets over the next two years while investing in technology, supply chain and franchise operations.

Mast Banarasi Paan has expanded its retail network to more than 400 outlets across India and is exploring growth capital to support its next phase of expansion.
The tobacco free paan café chain plans to increase its presence to 600 outlets over the next two years. The proposed funding will be used to expand into new markets, strengthen technology and supply chain operations, and support its franchise network.

The company currently operates across more than 320 cities in over 20 states, making it one of India’s largest organised tobacco free paan retail chains. It is also evaluating opportunities to enter international markets with sizeable Indian diaspora communities.
India’s paan market is estimated to be worth more than ₹5,000 crore, although the organised retail segment remains relatively small. Mast Banarasi Paan says it aims to bring greater consistency and hygiene to the category through standardised operations and central sourcing.

The company’s expansion comes as Banarasi Paan receives wider recognition through the Uttar Pradesh Government’s One District One Cuisine initiative, which promotes regional food traditions and entrepreneurship.
Commenting on the milestone, Panchanand Thakur, Founder and CEO, Mast Banarasi Paan, said, “Paan has long been an integral part of India’s culinary and cultural heritage, but the category has remained largely unorganised. We see a growing preference for trusted brands that offer quality, consistency and hygiene while preserving authenticity.”

He added, “Our focus is on expanding responsibly, strengthening our operating capabilities and making the Banarasi paan experience accessible to consumers across the country.”
Alongside traditional varieties such as meetha and sada paan, the company has expanded its menu with newer offerings to cater to changing consumer preferences. Its franchise model supports entrepreneurs across Tier I, Tier II and Tier III cities through standardised operating processes and central sourcing.
