Sandeep Arora, Director, Brightsun Travel, highlights the importance of regional traditions and lesser known destinations as employees share travel stories, local cuisine and cultural heritage at the company’s Gurugram office.
Brightsun Travel marked World Tourism Day with an employee initiative that brought India’s regional destinations, culinary traditions and cultural heritage into focus at its Gurugram office.
Organised in August, the gathering invited employees to introduce colleagues to destinations, traditions and experiences associated with their home states. The initiative placed particular attention on locations that receive less attention in conventional travel itineraries.
Employees shared information about lesser known destinations from their respective regions, including places associated with local culture, natural attractions and community traditions.
Regional cuisine was another part of the event, with teams organising food stalls featuring dishes associated with their home states. Employees also wore traditional clothing representing different parts of India.
Together, these activities provided an opportunity for colleagues to learn about destinations and cultural practices through the experiences of people familiar with them.
Sandeep Arora, Director, Brightsun Travel, said, “India offers an extraordinary range of stories for travellers to discover, and this celebration gave our employees a meaningful opportunity to share the places, flavours and traditions that matter most to them.”
He added, “It was encouraging to see colleagues come together with such pride and curiosity, reminding us that every region has something unique to offer.”
The initiative also gave employees an opportunity to discuss the personal connections they maintain with their home states and the places they believe deserve greater attention from travellers.
For Brightsun Travel, the gathering connected employees’ regional knowledge with the company’s work across leisure, corporate and business travel.
Brightsun Travel operates across international markets and provides travel management services for leisure, corporate and business clients. The company works with airlines, hotels, tourism boards and destination partners.
Through its World Tourism Day initiative, the company brought employees’ knowledge of regional destinations and cultural traditions into a shared workplace experience.
