Researchers at VIT Bhopal have also worked on public safety and transportation technologies, including an Advanced Airbag Deployment System, Smart Vehicle Interior System, Traffic Lane Prioritization System, Intrusion Detection System, Structural Crack Detection System and Smart Appliance Control System
The university has secured six design registrations, while ten utility patent applications have been published and are currently under examination. These developments reflect participation from both faculty members and students in applied research and product focused innovation.
Several funded projects are linked to AI enabled precision farming, disease surveillance systems, cybersecurity, communication technologies and aerospace research aligned with national priorities. In agriculture, the work is focused on improving crop yields, optimising resource use, reducing pesticide dependence and supporting farmers through advanced technologies.
In healthcare, VIT Bhopal is working on disease surveillance, data driven healthcare administration and advanced diagnostic techniques aimed at supporting public health systems and healthcare outcomes.
The university’s research initiatives also cover communication systems, aerospace technologies, next generation mobility, cybersecurity and public safety, contributing to India’s technology self reliance. It is also using emerging digital technologies to preserve and digitally present India’s cultural heritage.
The research portfolio includes sustainability and advanced materials work, such as a Thermoplastic Biodegradable Wood Adhesive and an Integrated Bioprocess for the Co production of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles and Succinic Acid using agro industrial residues.
Established in 2017 in Madhya Pradesh, VIT Bhopal University is part of the Vellore Institute of Technology group of institutions. The multidisciplinary university is spread across a 300 acre green campus and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in engineering, management, sciences and allied disciplines.
The university has a 100 percent doctoral faculty and follows the CALTECH initiative, a technology driven teaching and learning model that integrates industry practices, research exposure and experiential learning.
