Fourth Bengaluru Café Opens as Beanlore Converts Koramangala Bungalow into Two Floor Destination
Bengaluru café brand Beanlore has opened its fourth outlet in Koramangala, converting an old residential bungalow into a café with separate areas for dining, conversation and laptop work.
The new location is Beanlore’s first outlet spread across two floors. It follows the brand’s existing cafés in HSR Layout, Indiranagar and Jayanagar.
The Koramangala property retains the character of an older Bengaluru home, with mature trees, garden seating and indoor spaces arranged around the building’s original structure.
Unlike conventional cafés where dining and laptop work take place in the same area, Beanlore has divided the outlet into two distinct zones.
The ground floor, which connects directly to the garden and outdoor seating, is reserved for food, coffee and conversation. Laptops and work activities are not permitted in this section.
The first floor is designed for guests who want to work, with dedicated seating and private meeting pods suitable for calls and small discussions.
Prasanna Kumar, Co-Founder, Beanlore, said, “This Beanlore is a little different from the ones that came before it.”
Explaining the layout, he added, “We wanted the ground floor to stay simple and focused on food, coffee and conversation, and let the first floor become its own space for work.”
The café also introduces a soft serve counter available exclusively at the Koramangala outlet.
Its flavours will change during the week, adding a new offering to the brand’s existing coffee, bakery and food menu.
Beanlore continues to roast its coffee internally using beans sourced from Chikkamagaluru.
The kitchen also prepares its own bread, sauces, cold brew and soft serve, while bowls are assembled to order using seasonal ingredients.
Freshly baked bread remains central to the café’s sandwich selection.
Among the featured dishes is the Harissa Grilled Chicken Sandwich, prepared with sourdough bread, spiced chicken and melted cheese.
Other sandwich options include the Italian Pesto Ciabatta and Smoked Chicken Baguette.
The bowl selection includes a Bahn Mi Rice Bowl with jasmine rice, pickled vegetables, fresh herbs and a choice of protein.
The Asian Rice Bowl combines black sesame chicken, soft boiled eggs, broccoli and jasmine rice.
Customers looking for lighter options can choose the Mixed Berry Smoothie Bowl, served with granola, chia seeds and seasonal fruit.
The bakery menu also includes an Almond Croissant filled with almond cream and topped with toasted almonds.
Another dish available at the outlet is Crispy Chickpea with Burrata & Harra.
The beverage menu features espresso based drinks and signature preparations.
These include the Popcorn Latte, Spanish Latte, Lotus Latte and Banana Latte, alongside Salted Pistachio Matcha.
The Popcorn Latte combines espresso and milk with the flavour of caramelised popcorn, while the Spanish Latte offers a sweeter coffee preparation using condensed milk.
An open barista counter allows guests to observe the coffee preparation process.
The design of the Koramangala café makes use of the property’s existing architecture and outdoor setting.
Green and beige textured walls, terrazzo flooring and earthy finishes carry the brand’s established interior style into the new location.
The garden seating has been arranged around the property’s existing greenery, while the indoor counter occupies a defined area to maintain open circulation.
Upstairs, the work area provides a quieter setting with views towards the garden and ground floor.
The café has been designed to accommodate different visits, from short coffee breaks and outdoor meals to extended work sessions.
Beanlore was established by Co-Founders Prasanna Kumar and Rajaram Gupta, who also have experience in Bengaluru’s hospitality sector.
Kumar was previously involved in building BLR Brewing Co. from its initial brewpub in Electronic City into a wider hospitality business.
Beanlore operates under BLR Restaurants Private Limited, which is also associated with BLR Brewing Co. and Hamilton.
The café brand began in HSR Layout before opening locations in Indiranagar and Jayanagar.
With Koramangala becoming its fourth location, Beanlore is preparing for further expansion in Bengaluru.
Prasanna Kumar said, “We’re already working on our fifth café, which we expect to open within the next three months, and beyond that, we’re building toward 25 cafés across Bengaluru over the coming years.”
He added, “Our approach has always been to grow one neighbourhood at a time, with the same standard in every kitchen.”
The company has not specified the location of its proposed fifth outlet.
For now, the Koramangala opening adds a different format to Beanlore’s existing network, combining a dining focused ground floor with a separate workspace above.
The outlet also marks the introduction of its dedicated soft serve counter while retaining the coffee roasting, fresh baking and kitchen preparation practices used across the brand’s four Bengaluru cafés.
