Created in collaboration with JioStar Consumer Products, the collection features more than 200 styles inspired by the cult film and will be available across NEWME’s website, app and retail stores nationwide.
Fashion brand NEWME has introduced an exclusive Mean Girls inspired collection in collaboration with JioStar Consumer Products, bringing one of popular culture’s most recognised fashion themes to Indian consumers.
The collaboration is accompanied by the nationwide campaign, “On Wednesdays We Wear NEWME,” drawing inspiration from the iconic style moments and memorable references associated with the film.
Available through NEWME’s website, mobile application and retail stores across India, the collection includes more than 200 products spanning dresses, tops, T shirts, skirts, bottoms, accessories and other fashion essentials designed for Gen Z consumers.
Inspired by the film’s Y2K aesthetic, the collection incorporates references to well known characters and memorable lines from the franchise while adapting them for contemporary fashion.
As part of the campaign, NEWME stores across the country will host themed in store experiences inspired by the film. Customers spending more than ₹3,000 every Wednesday will receive exclusive Mean Girls themed collectibles. The campaign will also include creator collaborations, giveaways, scene recreations and digital content across social media platforms.
Sumit Jasoria, Co Founder and Chief Executive Officer, NEWME, said, “At NEWME, we’ve always believed fashion is part of culture, not separate from it. Mean Girls is one of those rare films whose influence has travelled far beyond cinema to shape fashion, internet humour and everyday conversations for generations. Partnering with JioStar Consumer Products to bring this iconic franchise to life felt like a natural fit, allowing us to reimagine a global pop culture phenomenon through the lens of India’s Gen Z fashion community.”
The collection includes graphic T shirts inspired by Regina George, Karen Smith and Gretchen Wieners, along with dresses, separates and accessories featuring references such as “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink,” “So Fetch,” “You Can’t Sit With Us,” and “Why Are You So Obsessed With Me?” It also features Y2K inspired accessories including flip phone cases, oversized sunglasses, low rise waist chains, tiered lace skirts and a Burn Book inspired collectible.
A spokesperson for JioStar said, “Mean Girls has evolved far beyond the screen to become a lasting cultural and fashion phenomenon, making it a natural fit for consumer products. With NEWME, we’ve found a partner that understands today’s youth, enabling us to bring one of entertainment’s most iconic properties into a contemporary fashion experience.”
According to NEWME, the collaboration forms part of the brand’s strategy of bringing globally recognised entertainment franchises into fashion collections designed for digitally connected consumers.
The NEWME x Mean Girls collection is now available through the brand’s online platforms and retail stores across India.
