Svetlana Smirnova, Chairman of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly, said the discussions reflect a shift toward trust based global cooperation and shared values
The World Public Summit: India has commenced in New Delhi, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, scholars and civil society representatives for discussions centred on global cooperation and shared values.
Held from March 23 to 26 at Hyatt Regency, the summit marks the first chapter of a broader international initiative that will extend to regions including the Arab world, Latin America, Africa and Europe during 2026.
The event is jointly organised by the World Peoples Assembly and the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with India’s role in multilateral platforms and its BRICS presidency providing context to its selection as host.
Participants include Sameep Shastri, Deputy Chairman of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sergey Cheryomin, Minister of the Moscow Government, Raksha Khadse, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Oleg Skripochka, cosmonaut and Hero of the Russian Federation, and Parul Mahajan, media entrepreneur, along with international experts and cultural leaders.
Across four days, sessions focus on themes such as cultural diplomacy, media responsibility, youth engagement, women’s leadership and the role of shared values in shaping global cooperation.
A key session titled Media and Shared Values: Shaping a Common Future examined the role of communication platforms in building understanding across regions. Another high level meeting of the Scientific and Expert Council of the World Peoples Assembly discussed frameworks for aligning global priorities through shared values.
Additional discussions explore areas including economic systems based on trust, the role of family in societal structures and the expanding scope of international collaboration, including emerging domains such as space.
Svetlana Smirnova, Chairman of the General Council of the World Peoples Assembly, said, “A new world is emerging, one defined by dialogue, trust, and shared values and this summit reflects that transformation in action.”
As part of a wider global series, the summit reflects ongoing efforts to build structured dialogue platforms that connect regions, institutions and communities around common priorities.
