More Than 6,00,000 Intercity Bus Routes Become Bookable on the Uber App Through AbhiBus Integration

Rohit Sharma, Chief Operating Officer of AbhiBus, and Praveen Neppalli Naga, Chief Technology Officer at Uber, say the integration enables users to browse bus services, compare routes and book intercity travel directly within the Uber platform.

Digital mobility platforms in India are increasingly integrating multiple modes of transport within a single application. Reflecting this shift, intercity bus tickets are now accessible on the Uber app through a partnership with AbhiBus, the bus business of ixigo.
The integration enables Uber users across India to search, compare and book bus services directly within the app. The system uses AbhiBus booking technology and operator integrations to provide access to a network of more than 6,00,000 intercity bus routes operated by over 6,200 bus operators nationwide.

Users can access the feature through the Home or Services section of the Uber app by selecting the Intercity option. After entering their origin, destination and travel date, users can browse available bus services, select preferred seats and complete their booking using integrated payment options within the platform.
Powered by AbhiBus booking infrastructure, the integration allows travellers to compare bus types including AC, Sleeper, Seater, Volvo and Scania services. Additional features available within the booking flow include real time seat availability, live bus tracking, 360 degree bus photos on select routes and customer support.

Rohit Sharma, Chief Operating Officer of AbhiBus, said the partnership expands access to the platform’s operator network and booking capabilities for a wider audience of digital travellers. He said integrating AbhiBus technology into the Uber ecosystem allows users to discover and book intercity bus travel in the same environment where they already manage everyday mobility.
Praveen Neppalli Naga, Chief Technology Officer at Uber, said the collaboration reflects the company’s goal of expanding travel options available through its platform. He said integrating AbhiBus bus inventory into the Uber app allows the company to extend mobility services beyond intra city rides and make intercity travel planning easier for users.
The partnership expands Uber’s mobility ecosystem while strengthening AbhiBus’s role in powering intercity bus ticketing across digital travel platforms in India.
