Sports partnerships gain momentum as HMD extends association with Rajasthan Royals for third season

Ravi Kunwar, VP and CEO of HMD India and APAC, said the upgraded deal places brand visibility on team helmets while aligning with upcoming smartphone launch plans

Brand partnerships in sports continue to expand as companies look to strengthen visibility through cricket, with HMD extending its association with Rajasthan Royals for a third consecutive season.
The company has elevated its role from official smartphone partner to Associate Sponsor, marking the next phase of its collaboration with the franchise. The move strengthens HMD’s presence within one of the most widely followed cricket leagues.

As part of the agreement, HMD branding will appear on the back of Rajasthan Royals’ helmets, offering consistent on field visibility during matches and broadcast coverage across domestic and international audiences.
Ravi Kunwar, VP and CEO, HMD India and APAC, said, “Continuing our association with Rajasthan Royals for our third innings feels like coming home on the field. It’s about putting HMD right in the line of sight for fans everywhere. This partnership coincides with our upcoming smartphone launch, already creating interest in our target markets.”

The partnership aligns with HMD’s focus on expanding its reach in India by connecting with cricket audiences and strengthening brand recall during the tournament season.
Alok Chitre, Chief Operating Officer, Rajasthan Royals, said, “Partnering with HMD aligns with our approach to engaging fans and expanding brand visibility during the season. This continued association helps us connect with audiences across markets.”
The collaboration reflects a broader trend of technology brands using sports platforms to build engagement and reach, particularly in markets where cricket remains a key driver of audience attention.
