Dr. Vivek Pathak, Founder-Director of NIPS Hospitality Group, said hospitality education now connects students to international careers across hotels, aviation, cruise lines, tourism, luxury services and global customer-experience industries.

India, 19th May 2026: NIPS Institute of Hotel Management hosted a New Zealand hospitality delegation at its Kolkata campus, giving students direct access to international recruiters and structured internship opportunities.
The delegation included representatives of leading hospitality employers from New Zealand, along with the Vira International team from London and their Auckland based partners.
The interaction and recruitment session included meet and greet discussions, skill assessments, interviews and career orientations. Students from Culinary Arts, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office Operations, Housekeeping and hybrid hospitality roles were evaluated on technical skills, communication, grooming, professionalism and operational knowledge.

The initiative reflects the changing role of hospitality education, which now extends beyond traditional hotel careers. Professionally trained graduates are increasingly finding opportunities across aviation, cruise lines, luxury retail, tourism, international events, corporate administration and premium service industries.
Dr. Vivek Pathak, Founder-Director of NIPS Hospitality Group, said, “Hospitality education today is no longer limited to local borders. Over the past three decades, the industry has evolved from a traditional hotel-focused profession into a globally connected career ecosystem spanning aviation, cruise lines, tourism, luxury services, and international hospitality. At NIPS, our focus remains on preparing students not only academically but also professionally and personally so that they can confidently compete on global platforms.”

As part of the practical evaluations, culinary students demonstrated creativity, presentation techniques, teamwork and attention to detail under the supervision of Executive Chef Marc. Other students showcased communication abilities, guest interaction skills, confidence, grooming standards, professionalism and service excellence.
Dr. Pathak added, “Students today aspire for global exposure, financial independence, and international careers at an early stage. Hospitality education has evolved into one of the strongest gateways to global opportunities, and our students are increasingly finding career pathways not only in hotels but also across airlines, cruise lines, tourism, luxury services, and global customer-experience industries.”

The international internship programme offers formal industry exposure in New Zealand through a Student and Trainee Work Visa route. Opportunities are available in Culinary Arts, Food and Beverage Service, Front Office and Housekeeping.
Selected students will earn at least NZD 23.15 per hour while working 40 to 50 hours a week. The visa process is conducted entirely online.
The visiting delegation noted the confidence, grooming, communication abilities, discipline and practical readiness of the students.
With more than three decades of presence across Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi and Shillong, NIPS Hospitality Group said it remains focused on international collaboration, industry oriented education, employability, personality development and global hospitality career readiness.
