Mumbai, December 2020: Ho, Ho, Ho, we’ve got a whole new menu for the Christmas Season at Monkey Bar ! Get ready you Jolly Good Fellows; it’s time to finally wish 2020 goodbye ! And who better to party with, than the guys who are known to throw the most deliciously joyful parties and bring the greatest cheer to Christmas and New Year. Yes, of course we’re talking about the Anglo-Indians.  And where better to do this at than Monkey Bar with ‘Jolly Good Fellows’ (Dec 16, 2020 to January 3, 2021)  in Mumbai – a tribute to the Anglo-Indian community. Yes, the Anglo-Indians; the first to hit the dance floor, the last to leave; deeply passionate about their food and drink, and truly encapsulating the spirit of India’s favourite gastropub with their joie de vivre and delight in all things fun. After months of staying at home – it’s time to step out with care and celebrate the good times ahead at Monkey Bar. Dig into a delicious menu of small plates, replete with decadent flavours, inspired by food cooked in Anglo-Indian homes across the country, coupled with mighty cocktails shaken and stirred, music, dance, and a generous dose of the festive spirit. From Panthras and Mother-in- law’s Chutney to Mama’s Mad B**f Pepper Fry and heady cocktails like  Brandy Bugger, Mulled Wine and  Oh Schnapp –  ‘Jolly Good Fellows’ promises a fun, festive feast featuring our take on the gems from Spicy Roast Chicken to Ball Curry, from Pot Pie to Maka Pao De. So, begin your festivities with your loved ones at Monkey Bar, Mumbai. Calling all you Porki fellows and Missy Babas for a taste of a time gone by ! 

No celebration is complete without food and drink and the ‘Jolly Good Fellows’ menu offers an array of delicious small plates and drinks inspired by the soul-satisfying dishes from Anglo-Indian homes across the country; familiar yet new to discover flavors that bring with them the proverbial Monkey Bar twist! Begin with the very simple Maka Pao De, bread and butter with a Portuguese twist; staple Anglo-Indian ingredients on a delicious kulcha, with spicy and sour Goan ambot butter. If you are vegetarian – try the Vegetable Pot Pie a hearty comforting dish all rolled into one with curry flavored assorted vegetables encased in a flaky, golden pie. Or dig into the hearty Panthra’s & Mother-In-Law’s Chutney; a go-to dish for the robust Anglo-Indian community of Kolkata. This delicious composition of Panko Fried Crepes filled with chicken mince is paired with spicy devil’s chutney and has many interpretations across Kolkata homes. Or order Spicy Chicken Roast with pepper potatoes, green beans, and a mustard horseradish sauce. Go for the banging Ball Curry and Pao – this Sunday special is a slow-cooked Railway-style mutton meatball curry, served with buttered pao and prawn balchao butter. Enjoy the Red Bourbon  a festive concoction of red wine, Jim Beam whisky, strawberry and lime juice; and a cocktail straight out of the Goan beaches –Brandy Bugger– a heady mix of brandy, orange, lime and peach. Another one for that beachy tropical mood – Oh Schnapp with house made butterscotch schnapps, Baileys, whisky and banana coconut cream.
