About

The Grasshopper restaurant, which opened in 2002, is for those who prefer subtle tastes and a quiet ambience. Here food is celebrated and eating is an unhurried, multi-sensory experience.

Situated on the porch of the building that houses the Grasshopper boutique, and surrounded by verdant greenery, the outdoor restaurant is minimal and uncluttered in design and idea. The cuisine, much like the space, is fresh, innovative and pleasing to the senses. The chefs use their imagination and skill to create food that is delicate and refined while at the same time soulful and satisfying.

About
This March, as a part of the collaboration with Grasshopper in Bangalore, Amethyst will preview the spring/summer collection by Hidden Harmony – the clothing label designed by Sonali Sattar since 1994. This is the in-house label at the Grasshopper boutique, and is also showcased at a few select stores around the country.
Hidden Harmony believes in pure design, with a commitment to the aesthetics of simplicity, without superfluous ornamentation. Sonali’s interest in various art forms, including sculpture and architecture, combined with an understanding of the intricacies of garment making, result in well-defined but minimal silhouettes.
The label keeps a distance from pop culture and restrictive fashion trends. Hidden Harmony garments transcend boundaries of time, and can be worn by any age group. These are pieces with staying power in an industry obsessed with change.
Each piece is painstakingly cut and sewn, and all finishes (including invisible hems and button holes), are done by hand.
In keeping with it’s design philosophy, the new Hidden Harmony collection for Amethyst comprises timeless pieces in which a lot of attention is paid to detail, while the finished look is simple. The unstructured clothes drape over the body, with a natural flow, eliminating the need for buttons and zippers.
Natural fabrics are used in the collection – predominantly khadi, in a range of weights and textures, and semi-sheer chanderi which is layered into silhouettes where hemlines curve and dip, often asymmetrically.
A summer palette of blues, fresh leaf green, yellow, beige and white predominate the collection. Price Range: Rs.5,000/- onwards
Designer / Restaurateur Sonali Sattar will be there in Chennai from March 17th to 21st and will be available for face to face interviews during the period. She will also be available for telephonic /email interviews prior to that.
