This year marks the fifth edition of the Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon. How has the event grown and evolved since its inception? What goals did you set initially, and how have you exceeded those expectations?
Since its inception, the Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon has experienced significant growth and evolution as it enters its fifth edition this year. The number of participants has consistently increased each year, attracting athletes from all corners of the country. Initially, the event aimed to bring together athletes from Madhya Pradesh on an annual basis, but due to the strong response and competitive nature of the marathon, it has evolved into a prominent event and established itself as a strong product of Madhya Pradesh. The event has exceeded expectations by fostering widespread participation and becoming a major attraction for athletes nationwide.

Registration for the marathon is already underway, with a limit of 1000 participants. Could you explain the reasoning behind capping the number of participants? What measures are being taken to ensure optimal facilities and infrastructure for all participants?
Registrations are now closed, and for this edition of the marathon, there were 1350 participants, which is the highest number in any previous edition. The reasoning behind capping the number of participants is primarily due to the unique nature of Pachmarhi as a destination. Pachmarhi is a relatively untapped and unexplored tourist destination, and continuous efforts are being made to maintain its non-commercialized appeal. Additionally, Pachmarhi has limited accommodation capacity, which necessitates allowing only a selected number of registrations to ensure optimal facilities and infrastructure for all participants.

The marathon offers four different categories, including the newly introduced 42-kilometer full marathon category. What has been the response to this category since its introduction last year? How does it add to the overall excitement and challenge of the event?
The response to the newly introduced 42-kilometer full marathon category since its introduction last year has been overwhelmingly positive.
