More than 25,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses were distributed during 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

COVID-19 vaccine: On April 25, the Union Health Ministry issued a statement. that India had been the fastest country in the world to give over 14 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses in just 99 days.

So far, 14,09,16,417 vaccination doses have been provided across the country in 20,19,263 sessions, according to the Ministry, citing a preliminary report as of 7 a.m. This includes 92,90,528 healthcare employees and 1,19,50,251 frontline workers who received the first dose and 59,95,634 healthcare workers and 62,90,491 frontline workers who received the second dose.

The first dose was administered to 4,96,55,753 older adults, while the double dose was administered to 77,19,730. The first dose was given to 4,76,83,792 recipients between the ages of 45 and 60, and the second dose was given to 23,30,238 beneficiaries. “In another important breakthrough, India has now become the world’s fastest country to reach the milestone of 14 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses.

“India accomplished this feat in just 99 days,” the Ministry stated. In 24 hours, about 25 lakh vaccination doses were delivered. 25,36,612 vaccine doses were born on April 24, day 99 of the vaccination effort. While the first dose was administered to 16,43,864 beneficiaries throughout 25,732 sessions, the second dose was administered to 8,92,748 people.

The nationwide immunization program began on January 16, with healthcare professionals being immunized, while frontline workers were vaccinated starting on February 2. The next phase of COVID-19 vaccination began on March 1 for persons over the age of 60 and those aged 45 and up who have certain co-morbid disorders.

From April 1, India mandated vaccination for all people above the age of 45. It later decided to broaden its immunization campaign, enabling anybody over 18 to be vaccinated beginning May 1.
