A mechanic from Assam transformed a Maruti Suzuki Swift into a ‘Lamborghini’

It’s a dream come true for Nurul Haque, a 31-year-old motor technician from Assam’s remote region of Karimganj. With his hard work and dedication, the motor mechanic transformed his old Maruti Suzuki Swift into a replica of the famed Italian sports car ‘Lamborghini.’

‘It took approximately eight months and a little more than six lakh to create it,’ said Nurul Haque, who owns a garage in the district’s Bhanga Bazaar region. Nurul learned the art of car repair from his father, who was also a mechanic. They had a garage in Dimapur, Nagaland, where they had lived for around 20 years. Nurul told the Hindustan Times that he is a fan of the Fast and Furious films and has always desired to drive sports cars like Ferrari or Lamborghini. During last year’s lockdown, he was forced to stay at home with no employment. That’s when he started thinking about making his own Lamborghini duplicate. He stated that after purchasing a used Maruti Swift, he began assembling the parts of the Lamborghini imitation by viewing YouTube videos. “However, I had no idea it would be such an expensive affair. From purchasing the engine and raw materials to giving it its final design, the overall cost of the project was roughly $620,000. I’m not sure if creating such a replica is even legal. “I want to drive throughout the state, and I’m hoping the authorities don’t arrest me and seize my automobile,” Nurul explained. He stated that he wants to sell the car, but only to someone as enthusiastic about it as he is. The Ferrari is the next item on his wish list. ‘I intend to construct a customized duplicate of Ferrari soon,” he remarked. However, it is all dependent on my Lamborghini experience. If the local authorities allow me to ride in this car, I plan to make more of these models.
