Casteism in India is a typical example of orthodox mentality among Indians. Which kept on continuing since ancient times. Which in other words is known as jati or varna system. The varna system consists of four divisions on the basis of occupation that are the Brahmins, who carried out all religious activities right from worshipping and teaching. The Kshatriyas consisted of warriors and administrators, the Vaishya were carrying business, farming and trade. And Shudras were made to do the menial work in society. Major discrimination took place since ancient times on the basis of caste and religion system. It derived from the vedic vernas.
Caste related violence is carried in Indian in social political and economic sectors. Some of the reformers tried to solve it by their social works in the society like Jyotirao Phule, Vivekananda, Dr BR Ambedkar and more. Who tried to demolish the cast discrimation and violence in the society. Due to such issues economic and social inequality is created. The Manusmriti system which consists of allegations on the fourth caste denied basic freedom of rights. Which was later on banned in India .As the schedule caste and scheduled tribes are are believed as untouchables and backward basic rights were taken away like education, food , shelter and clothing. The constitution of India implements in the support of backward classes of civil authority, Article 15, Inter caste marriage in india, caste system in Africa, caste system in sri lanka and manual scavenging. Various acts like Atrocity act are mentional upon discrimination on caste system.
Even today inter caste marriages are not happily accepted in the Indian society. Large number of crimes still takes place like sexual Harassment, murders and caste abuse. It has influenced many religions like Hinduasm , Christianity , islaam and Buddhism . Which disturbs the harmony in the society. Upon caste system many other issues like reservations system causes major disturbance in India. Free education is provided under article 15 act is today denied by open categories in India.
