Kolkata, 13th November 2021: In recent times in India the ceremony of cake mixing has become a much-anticipated ritual. The customary cake mixing festival begins a month prior to Christmas. It is said to be a long-standing ceremonial practice that dates back to Biblical times and also was historically honored in the massive family get-togethers.
Like every year JW Marriott Kolkata, had an annual geniality routine in which the hotel celebrated the traditional cake mixing ceremony with city patrons, few in-house guests and associates which makes it a gala affair.
Much before the cake is baked, it is the energy and enthusiasm of mixing various ingredients that ushers in the Yuletide cheer. An assortment of fruits and nuts are accumulated by JW Marriott Kolkata during this time and used to bake the scrumptious and traditional plum cake. All ingredient like spirits, dry fruits, cherries, dates, spices are thoroughly mixed and infused in spirits such as brandy, rum and wine to mature prior to the actual baking.
The evening witnessed the connoisseurs of the city donning the apron, cap and gloves, coming together to tackle the colorful mounds of dry fruits, nuts and other concoctions to herald in the lively joyous Christmas season.
