Memes storm Twitter after Zomato and Swiggy apps go down for a short time

Before being resolved, the nationwide outage of food delivery apps lasted nearly an hour.

Food delivery services in India are synonymous with Zomato and Swiggy. Both apps were unavailable for nearly an hour on Wednesday due to a problem with Amazon Web Services, an IT management company used by many online platforms.

Swiggy and Zomato acknowledged that they were experiencing technical difficulties, preventing customers from placing orders. However, the problem was quickly resolved, and both apps resumed regular operation.

This brief outage, however, sparked a social media meme frenzy. Many netizens expressed their reliance on food-delivery apps through memes.

Earlier this month, Spotify and Discord experienced a similar temporary outage after several users reported not being able to log in to their accounts via their mobile devices or the web.
Zomato, known for its social media savvy marketing style, recently made headlines after its founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, declared on March 21 that the company would offer a 10-minute food delivery service. The announcement sparked a slew of memes and questions about the safety of delivery agents.
