Before TMKOC, Dilip Joshi, aka Jethalal, faced a “tough time”: “I was jobless for a year.”

An old video record of actor Dilip Joshi, who rose to fame after portraying Jethalal in the famous sitcom “TMKOC,” surfaced on the internet talks of being “jobless” for a year.

Dilip Joshi states in the video that he was given the option of playing either Champaklal or Jethalal. On the other hand, he declined to portray Champaklal because he didn’t think he looked like the character.

“I was ecstatic when Asit informed me he was working on a program. I was delivered the option of choosing between Jethalal and Champaklal.

Although Asit told me that whatever persona I chose, I will do good,” even though Jethalal’s caricature was also different, lean with a charlie mustache.

Dilip Joshi, who rose to popularity as Jethalal in the famous sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,’ had to wait a long time for success.

Dilip, who began his acting career in 1989 with the role of Ramu in the film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya,’ went on to play several modest roles in Hindi films and television serials until landing the role that catapulted him to stardom.

In which he discusses being jobless for a year before joining “TMKOC,” Dilip’s video interview has recently gone popular on the internet.

Dilip also discusses going through a “difficult time” before joining “TMKOC.” “I had no employment, no work for nearly a year before I signed TMKOC,” he explained. The show I was working on had been taken off the air.

The play I was in had reached the end of its duration. As a result, I was unemployed. It was a trying moment for me, and I couldn’t decide what I should do or whether I should change careers. The film industry is a risky business, where a hit part does not guarantee a successful career. But, through God’s goodness, TMKOC was made available to me.”
