Twitter is using memes in response to the disruptions caused by Spotify and Discord in 2022

On Tuesday night, several users could not access their Spotify and Discord accounts.

On Tuesday night, Spotify and Discord experienced outages as numerous users reported being unable to check in to their accounts via their mobile devices or the web. The outages happened late Tuesday evening, about 11:30 p.m. IST.

Soon after, both acknowledged that their systems were experiencing difficulty. After a brief halt, their services were mostly restored to their original programming. It is unknown what caused the apps to go down.

Discord tweeted at 1:33 a.m. IST, “Discord is back up and running for messages, calls, and streaming!” We’re still working on a few items, such as attachments and typing events, but they should be back up and running shortly. “Thank you for your patience, everyone.” Spotify also stated that “everything is looking considerably better” and encouraged users to contact customer service if they still needed assistance.

Many users on Twitter reacted to difficulties in both apps with memes and jokes. While some people emphasized their need for them, others mocked others who depended too heavily on the programs.
While Spotify is a popular music streaming software, Discord is popular among the gaming community. According to Statista, Spotify has 406 million active users worldwide as of 2021, whereas Discord has roughly 150 million monthly active users.
