Orchids The International School promotes innovative learning, Horticulture in Curriculum

Pune, 23rd October 2022: Orchids The International School (OIS), a leading K12 School chain in India, has pioneered many futuristic educational methods to bring practical learning experience for the students.

Continuing its legacy of bringing innovative practices in academics, OIS has introduced Horticulture Curriculum for all branches from Grade 1 to 10.

Adhering to National Education Policy -2020, Orchids-The International School is one of the first few schools in India to implement horticulture in its curriculum.

In the tech-driven world today, we are surrounded by automated machine and we see that artificial intelligence is slowly occupying human minds and therefore we are moving away from nature.

At Orchids, we want the children to be rooted with nature and develop a sense of sustenance and conservation among the students.

The horticulture curriculum will include both theory and practical classes. The students of each grade will have one class per Week. Each branch of Orchids will have a polyhouse, Hydroponics, vegetation of flowers, fruits, Medicines, and vegetables on its campus.

The polyhouse in each branch covers a land area of 500-1000 sq.ft depending on the space available in the campus area. The polyhouse will be planted on the terrace or the ground floor near the entrance considering the place available on the campus.

The students from each class will take responsibility for monitoring and maintaining the horticulture set up at the campus.
