Yuvraj Singh backs ‘Cricket for Blind’ and has been named a brand ambassador

Thousands of blind cricketers are waiting for an opportunity to pursue their passion for the game.

The third T20 World Cup for the Blind begins on December 6, 2022.

The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) announced today that Indian superstar Yuvraj Singh will serve as the brand ambassador for the 3rd T20 World Cup for the Blind, which will be held in India.

The India squad roster has been released, with I. Ajay Kumar Reddy B2 (Andhra Pradesh) serving as CAPTAIN and Venkateswara Rao Dunna – B2 (Andhra Pradesh) serving as Vice-Captain.

The World Cup matches will take place from December 6th to December 17th, 2022.

India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will compete in the third T20 World Cup for the Blind.

The first match will be played on December 6, 2022, at Faridabad, against defending champions India and Nepal.

As the Brand Ambassador for the 3rd T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind, I am overjoyed. I praise and admire the spirit of visually impaired cricketers for their love of the game and commitment to overcoming daily hurdles. It’s a different world, but it’s a Cricket world.

Cricket knows no bounds. And I feel this game taught me how to fight, how to fall, how to get back up, and how to move forward. As a result, I urge and ask everyone to support this wonderful project

The Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, which has been organising this competition since 2012, is behind the global cup.

Samarthanam sees sports as a means to increase inclusion and encourage people with disabilities on a variety of levels. The charity has helped around 25,000 visually impaired insects since its establishment.

Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), Samarthanam’s sports branch, was founded in 2010 to cultivate the cricketing dreams of visually impaired cricket players and to give a platform for them to showcase their unrivalled talent in the game of blind cricket.

CABI’s committee chose the top 56 players who participated in a coaching program in Bangalore since July.
Following further evaluation by the Selection Committee, the top 29 players were chosen to undergo intensive Cricket Coaching and physical testing in Bhopal for 12 days.
The final 17 Indian squad members have been decided by the selection committee. The final 17 Indian players for the 3rd T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind have been chosen by the selection committee.
The World Cup would feature 24 matches played across India in various places.
Winning the World Cup in 2012 and 2017 meant a lot to us because it meant so much to so many people. Our selected players have gone through rigorous schedules, discipline, and hard work, and I am confident that the best 17 with the spirit of sportsmanship are geared up to win the World Cup for the third time,
