Suzuka 8 Hours Livery Bolt-On Tools for the Yamaha R7 will be sold in Japan in August 2022.

The racing legacy engrained in the vehicle is undoubtedly part of the pleasure of owning a sportbike. This is particularly genuine if you own one of Yamaha’s YZF-R sportbikes, even if it’s the newest and not-so-fast YZF-R7. While the R7 was supposed to replace the R6, many fans disagree, claiming that the new bike is far less potent than the inline-four machine.

In any case, the YZF-R7 was never intended to match the cutting-edge capabilities of the R6 but rather to deliver a more accessible sportbike experience, eventually appealing to a larger spectrum of people. Because of this, Yamaha was intended to run an R7 in the 2020 Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race, which was eventually canceled owing to COVID-19. Regardless, the bike was built, and it was a stunning vehicle. Yamaha now allows fans and customers to mimic the racing bike by providing a fairing set identical to what was seen on the race cycle, complete with eye-catching colors.

The YZF-R7 YAMALUBE Exterior Set is a complete fairing kit and extra bodywork designed to make your otherwise plain-looking R7 into a race replica, especially the Tuning Fork Company’s endurance racer. The fairing kit has a stunning blue and black design, a perfect representation of the YART Yamaha Official EWC Team. The color scheme comprises several gradients ranging from blue to black and tiny details like faint red striping and a slew of sponsor logos. Fitting this package to your bike will instantly convert it into a street racer.

The fairings were painted by robots, utilizing a method similar to the Sunburst colorway featured on the Yamaha SR400. As the robots were trained to paint the bodywork in a precise fashion, I assume that all kits are identical in terms of finish and quality.

The Yamaha YZF-R7 YAMALUBE Exterior Sett isn’t cheap either, costing JPY 220,000 (USD 1,800). Yamaha plans to make the kit available for purchase in August 2022. Meanwhile, bikes equipped with the package will be shown at the Tokyo and Nagoya Motorcycle Shows.
