About Chitah Yajnesh Shetty
Chitah Yajnesh Shetty, a multi-faceted personality and achiever, was born in Bankal Village of Karnataka to Dr. Shrinivas Shetty and Mrs. Gulabi Shetty. He studied in Ninjoor School and Manipal Junior College. He was fascinated by Martial Arts and commenced training in the art of Mixed Martial Arts. A black belt commando trained forest officer was his partner for sparring. Over time, they became good friends and spent quite some time on a ‘Machaan’, keeping a vigil on Illegal Hunters and Sandalwood smugglers. He had a moment of inspiration when from the Machaan, he saw a Chitah walk by with slow graceful moves. Awestruck by the cleverness, speed and power of the Chitah, Yajness Shetty put himself psychologically in place of the Chitah and began practicing the movement of the Chitah. Yagnesh soon assimilated them into martial arts. He developed a unique martial arts style with it which came to be known as ‘Chitah’. He then went to Mumbai in search of greener pastures and joined a five star hotel called Sea Rock. He soon got promoted as a trainer at the hotel’s health club, and that is when his life took a new turn. He came across Hindi film stars such as Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakravorthy and Jitendra there. He soon started a workshop of martial arts at Lokhandwala in Andheri, Mumbai, teaching martial arts and body building. By and by, he became a permanent fitness guru for Bollywood. He has been training newcomers along with veteran film stars for the last 35 years. Among the international stars, he has trained Ben Kingsley, Roger Moore and worked with Jackie Chan also. He has also struggled hard to make the art of self-defence reach the common people. In the wake of increasing crimes against women, he has started a free programme titled ‘Nirbhaya’ to train women in self-defence. He has been conferred the Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award besides several other awards for his achievements. Chitah Yajnesh Shetty produced a film called ”HUM TUM PE MARTE HAIN” starring Govinda, Urmila Matondkar, Dimple Kapadia, Paresh Rawal, Gulshan Grover, Johnny Lever. He directed a film titled ” Boomerang” which was shot in Cyprus. He has also done Martial Art action sequences in films such as Prahar, Jigar, Luck By Chance, Yuvah. and Has Also Acted In Films Like Gambler, Krishna, Zalim, Prahar, Jigar, Luck By Chance, Platform, Sainik, Bhai, etc.
