Tourists who drove their Audi through the 14,100 feet of Ladakh’s Pangong Lake have been chastised on Twitter

When we, as tourists, visit ecologically fragile sites in India or around the world, it is our primary responsibility to protect them. Creating a commotion or endangering the environment under enjoyment is the last thing we should do. A video from Ladakh has gone viral, showing many visitors behaving irresponsibly. Jigmat Ladakhi, a Twitter user, provided a video of a few individuals driving their automobiles through Ladakh’s pristine Pangong Lake. The footage horrified social media users, who urged harsh punishment for the culprits.

Three men are seen driving through Pangong Lake in an Audi in the now-viral footage. A collapsible table and chair are also visible in the lake, along with bottles of alcohol. While it is apparent that the video was shot in Ladakh, the specific date of the occurrence is unknown. Nonetheless, it is irresponsible tourist behavior.

“I’m posting another heinous video.” Careless tourists are killing Ladakh. Do you have any idea? Ladakh contains over 350 bird species, and lakes like Pangong are home to many of them. “Such an act may have jeopardized the habitat of numerous bird species (sic),” according to the video commentary.

The internet chastised a group of visitors in Ladakh for their actions. “Hon. Minister, this heinous behavior by ostensibly visitors must not be unpunished.” Otherwise, it will detract from the location’s natural beauty (sic),” one user remarked.
“Environment is no one’s property to damage; it is everyone’s obligation to safeguard (sic),” remarked another commenter.
Pangong Lake is located at an elevation of 14,100 feet in the eastern sector of Ladakh, 150 kilometers from Leh via the Changla pass (17,000ft). This lake is one of the country’s largest and most attractive natural brackish lakes.
