23rd June 2022, Bangalore , SILICA, a design coaching institute, has filed a Rs. 20 crore suit for damages arising out of trademark disparagement and defamation against Bhanwar Rathore Design Studio (BRDS) for misguiding students and parents and issuing other malicious statements against the institute.
SILICA is a contemporary of BRDS in the field of design coaching, and Mr. Bhanwar Singh Rathore, Director of BRDS and employees of BRDS have repeatedly tried in multiple ways to unethically harm SILICA Institute by sending factually incorrect and malicious messages and mails to prospective students of SILICA. False reviews of it have been created on websites by BRDS and they have falsely published the fake results to mislead students and parents.
Chiranjeet Rege, CEO of SILICA Institute said “This is not a SILICA vs BRDS case. It is a case to stop all unethical practices used in the entrance coaching market. Due to these unethical, false, and patently incorrect statements by BRDS we have suffered damages to our well-established trade, reputation and goodwill. We have been forced to file a civil suit against them and are in the process of filing a criminal complaint against the promoter of BRDS, Mr Bhanwar Singh Rathore, and their concerned employees for defamation. Protecting our reputation is our top priority.”
The company is engaged in the business of providing high quality coaching for entrance exams of design courses that give students admission to courses in NID, NIFT, CEED, NATA and Art CET at graduate and post graduate level. Over the years, SILICA Institute has trained over 15,000 students for various design courses.
