We must also keep in mind that someone who adheres to a strict diet or strives to eat healthily does not always suffer from orthorexia.

When a habit becomes focused or obsessive, though, it may become a source of concern.

Yes, there can be physical, emotional, and even social problems. A lack of vital nutrients caused by a limited diet can result in malnutrition, anemia, and a prolonged heart rate. Digestive issues, electrolyte and hormonal imbalances, metabolic acidosis, and bone health difficulties can all result from severe malnutrition. Simultaneously, one may have significant psychological consequences, such as a lack of attention, a loss of interest in social situations, and more.
