Prittle Prattle in conversation with Vimesh Dedhia, Co-founder, Acadzo

Acadzo is a STEM & ISO Accredited ed-tech platform focusing on mental math calculations and systematic reasoning skills. With a mission to empower students with mental agility and critical thinking abilities, Acadzo offers interactive and engaging programs to enhance a child’s mathematical aptitude. Founded by Vimesh Dedhia and Jinal Dedhia, Acadzo is dedicated to eliminating math phobia and nurturing young minds through mind sports.

  1. What does your company do? Your role in it?

As the founder of Acadzo, together with my wife and co-founder Jinal, we have established an innovative online e-learning platform with a specific focus on mental math. Our primary goal is to empower children by equipping them with the essential skills needed to adapt and succeed in any situation while nurturing their passion for learning. We recognize the significance of providing young minds with the necessary tools to thrive in an ever-changing world.

At Acadzo, we employ a comprehensive approach that combines group activities, personalized one-on-one instruction, and a wealth of online resources to cater to the diverse learning styles of our students. The STEM-certified program offers a curriculum that extends beyond traditional academic subjects, encompassing a broad spectrum of disciplines.

In my role as a co-founder, I am responsible for overseeing the overall strategic direction of the company. This involves ensuring the quality of our programs and actively seeking partnerships with educational institutions and stakeholders. I am wholeheartedly dedicated to empowering the next generation, fostering their growth, and enabling them to excel in all aspects of their lives.

  1. Evolution in the past few years in the industry you work in. What would be your contribution to its betterment?

The mental maths industry has undergone a remarkable evolution in recent years, driven by technological advancement and a growing recognition of the importance of numeracy skills. Traditionally, mental maths was taught through rote memorization and repetitive drills, but today, it has transformed into a dynamic and engaging field. There is a greater emphasis on developing critical thinking and mathematical aptitude. Acadzo has played a consequential role in this evolution by providing a space for children to learn and excel in the mind sports sector. Our platform provides interactive modules, engaging activities, and instant feedback, enabling students to develop mental calculation abilities and build confidence in their mathematical skills.

One of our notable contributions is the establishment of a federation for mind sports. The federation aims to provide students with a stage to showcase their talents on both national and international platforms. By creating this space, our goal is to elevate our young learners to the same level of recognition as athletes in traditional sports. This initiative not only motivates children to excel in this sector but also raises awareness about the benefits of mental maths and cube solving.

  1. Any Success Routine you would like to suggest

Absolutely! I firmly believe that while hard work is undeniably crucial, it is equally important to channel that effort in the right direction. Setting clear and achievable goals and maintaining an unwavering focus on them is paramount. Furthermore, it is essential to persevere and refuse to surrender until you have reached your ultimate destination.

In our learning programs, we emphasize the importance of consistency in practice and the pursuit of continuous improvement. These routines serve as vital keys to unlocking success for our learners. By instilling these principles, we aim to equip them with the necessary tools to excel and thrive in their endeavors.

  1. How did the company raise funding, or are you looking forward to the same?

Our extensive experience in the realm of educational technology has equipped us with the skills and knowledge necessary to identify and forge valuable partnerships with like-minded investors and supporters. From the very inception of the idea for Acadzo, we have been fortunate to find the right allies who have demonstrated their steady support.

We are thrilled to have secured support and funding from our partners, which has laid a solid foundation for Acadzo’s growth. With their support, we are poised for success as we work towards our vision of making Acadzo a resounding success.

  1. Explain Post Covid-19 Scenario by 2030 for the company and your career

In the post-COVID-19 scenario by 2030, Acadzo envisions significant growth and expansion as an upcoming player in the ed-tech industry. With our strong foundation and unwavering commitment to quality education, we anticipate a substantial increase in the reach and impact of our online e-learning platform. We intend to leverage our expertise and experience to ensure that Acadzo remains at the forefront of providing comprehensive support and fostering a love for learning among children.

In terms of my career, I see myself deeply involved in driving Acadzo’s growth and success. As a co-founder, I will continue to oversee the overall operations of the company, with a focus on maintaining the quality of our programs and forging partnerships with educational institutions and stakeholders. I will also actively contribute to the development and implementation of innovative strategies to adapt to the evolving educational landscape.

Overall, the post-COVID-19 scenario by 2030 holds immense potential for Acadzo and my career, and we are poised to seize the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, striving to create a lasting impact on education and empower the next generation.

  1. Why did you choose this industry over any other space?

The field of educational technology often referred to as ed-tech, encompasses numerous branches, each holding the key to success and growth in education. Over the past few years, only a handful of startups have ventured into this industry due to its demanding requirements of a sizable team and substantial funding. However, leveraging our invaluable experience and support, we have been able to carve out a prominent space for Acadzo within the ed-tech landscape.

My drive to choose this industry stems from the deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of mental math and its extensive impact on young minds. Witnessing the remarkable accomplishments of my sons Jinansh Dedhia and Shanay Dedhia who both hold multiple records as the fastest human calculator and the youngest human calculator and pro cuber respectively in the India Book of Records, Asia Book of Records as well as several other world records. They have also won several international medals and their achievements have been a tremendous source of inspiration. It motivated me to establish a platform dedicated to eradicating math phobia among children.

  1. Inspiring quote for aspiring youth

“Embrace your aspirations, conquer obstacles, and unlock your full potential. With unwavering passion and self-confidence, you have the power to shape your destiny, ignite inspiration within the world, and remember that initial fear is the key to future success. Don’t be afraid to fail, for it is through failures that we learn and grow.”

  1. Do you like participating in CSR initiatives, and what motivates you to engage in them?
We wholeheartedly embrace and actively engage in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and our commitment to such endeavors will persist in the future. At Acadzo, we firmly believe that our mission extends far beyond imparting mental calculations and cube-solving skills to our students. Our ultimate goal is to equip them with the tools to create a meaningful impact in the world as they venture forth. The impetus behind our involvement in CSR initiatives comes from our aim to create a  positive change in society. We are driven by a deep-rooted commitment to giving back and providing opportunities to those who may face barriers to accessing quality education and resources.
In line with this vision, we extend our CSR efforts to boarding schools and underprivileged communities, offering mental maths and cube-solving programs at greatly reduced rates. We take pride in having trained over 1000 students in mental maths and cube learning across various boarding schools in Songadh, Gujarat, and Palghar and Matunga in Maharashtra. Through this initiative, we strive to bridge educational gaps and empower young minds with valuable skills, irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds. By actively participating in CSR endeavors, we aspire to contribute to the betterment of communities and nurture talent that might otherwise remain unnoticed and untapped.
  1. Would you like to name a few people who helped you the most in your professional upliftment (Just names, no designation or companies needed? It could be a small way to thank them)
I would like to express our gratitude to several people who have played instrumental roles in my professional upliftment. These individuals include CA Navin Shah, Chandrakantji Gogri, and Jayesh Chheda as well as our two young champions, Jinansh and Shanay Dedhia. Their guidance, support, and expertise have been invaluable in shaping Acadzo and helping us reach new heights.
  1. Could you elaborate on the challenges you encountered while establishing and retaining?
Establishing and solidifying Acadzo as a brand presented us with a myriad of challenges that demanded a substantial investment of time, staunch endeavors, and dedication. The meticulous process of refining and perfecting our curriculum alone required an extensive duration of approximately 735 days. Our primary objective was to craft a comprehensive curriculum that effectively imparted mental math calculations and cube-solving skills to children aged 5 to 14.
In addition to the curriculum, we also had to develop exclusive software along with games and videos tailored to the needs and preferences of children. The software development process involved several challenges, including creating a user-friendly interface, designing interactive exercises, and ensuring compatibility with different devices and operating systems. We wanted to make sure that the software was engaging and intuitive, allowing children to practice regularly and track their process easily.
