The ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 begins with a Google Doodle

The World Cup is going to feature eight teams competing over the course of 29 days. The event will run till April 3.

Google released an animated doodle on Friday to commemorate the commencement of this year’s Women’s Cricket World Cup, wishing the competing teams well as the event begins today in New Zealand.

The doodle depicts ladies in action at a cricket stadium, complete with animated people performing wicket-keeping, batting, and fielding. The World Cup is going to feature eight teams competing over the course of 29 days. The event will run till April 3.

In 1844, the world’s first international cricket match was played by Canada and the United States. The first women’s World Cup event was held in 1973, and the defending champions, England, won it.

“Regardless of how hot the battle becomes, cricket is well renowned for upholding high standards of fair play and sportsmanship.” As a result, the phrase “It’s just not cricket,” which refers to anything regarded as unfair, was coined,” Google added.
The first match of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, which began on March 4, pits host New Zealand against the West Indies at Bay Oval Stadium.
