UniNATURE – the first of its kind inks and coatings range formulated with bio-renewable content
Siegwerk India, one of the world’s top suppliers of printing inks and coatings for packaging and labels, has announced the debut of its new generation of sustainable inks, “UniNATURE,” in the Indian market.
The UniNATURE product line is made up of renewable and natural ingredients, making it a more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional inks without compromising the recyclability of paper and board packaging, and so contributing to the reduction of microplastics found in inks.
Siegwerk’s new sustainable water-based ink line has great ink performance and colour strengths, providing comparable levels of performance and characteristics to current water-based technologies.
User tests have revealed enhanced dot form, equivalent dot gain, high resolubility, and ease of cleaning on press, implying that it can be simply swapped out for present products without the need for new equipment, processes, or colour matches.
UniNATURE can also achieve high printing rates on presses, on both coated and uncoated media.
The new inks and coatings series are suitable for a wide range of paper and board applications, such as corrugated board boxes, trays and displays, fast food packaging, sacks and bags, and cups and wraps.
It enables a wide range of printing applications while fulfilling the most stringent market and regulatory requirements.
UniNATURE inks are designed for use with Siegwerk’s Unibase coloured bases and are available from Siegwerk as ready-to-use inks. UniNATURE extenders and Unibase colorbases, on the other hand, are more commonly provided to clients to be combined on demand at dispensing equipment directly at the customer.
